There's a lot of talk about going green right now. Going green might be easier than you think. You can start with small things that add up to big results.

 

Try making you own compost. Find a corner of the yard that is out of the way. Start a pile of compost by adding egg shells, coffee grounds, tea bags, vegetable peels, or those vegetable that you didn't eat quick enough; don't let it go to waste turn it into a nutritious pile of black gold that will fertilize your plants, shrubs and trees. After you start your compost pile add some dirt to get it started and turn the pile with a shovel every week or so. What use to be trash is now a nutritious soil to help grow plants with great results.

 

Make over you backyard to create an outdoor living area. It doesn't have to cost a lot. Use rocks for boarders or harvested wood from fallen trees. Use flower pots with colorful annuals for color.
